Action Bronson In Rape Lyric Row

Action Bronson is scheduled to headline Toronto's North By Northeast music festival, which runs from June 17-21.

However, over 35,000 internet user have signed a digital petition to remove him from the festival because of his 2011 track 'Consensual Rape'.

So far concert organizers are sticking with Bronson. But Toronto's mayor John Tory turned up the heat yesterday by saying he didn't believe Action's inclusion in the festival was consistent with the venue's policy.

"As a person, I find the trend toward this kind of disrespectful -- you might even argue it's abusive -- language to be astonishing and very disturbing," Tory said.

Concert organizers have said they were going to provide an update to Bronson's status today.
