50 Cent was heavily promoted as the lead guest on Chris Brown's The Party tour, which starts tonight in Baltimore.
In fact, he was never really on it.
According to Fif's camp, they had reached a preliminary agreement with Brown's camp to do the tour.
So Live Nation started promoting it with 50's name. However, 50's team had never cleared his fee with Live Nation. When it was time to sign contracts, Live Nation and 50 were "hundreds of thousands of dollars apart" on terms, and Fif walked away.
According to TMZ, Live Nation knew 50 was out two weeks ago. However, the 41-year old was being promoted as part of the tour until last week.
This is particularly relevant since Live Nation won't be giving any refunds as long as headliner Chris Brown shows up.
Last night, 50 cent jumped on IG and clarified that he wasn't mad at Brown.
Since then, TMZ has changed the headline to reflect that it was the promoters -- not Brown -- who couldn't afford 50.
