In 2018, during an interview on The Breakfast Club, 21 Savage said that he fell out with his father Kevin Cornelius Emmons because his father wouldn't pay his cell phone bill when he was a kid.
Emmons was in the UK during Savage's upbringing, and Savage needed the cell phone to stay in touch with him. According to the rapper, his dad began sending him $100 a month for the phone then suddenly stopped. So Savage hasn't spoken to him since the sixth grade.
But Emmons claimed that he stopped sending money because Savage hardly visited him in the UK and barely phoned him. Emmons also said that's why he didn't visit his son in the States.
Full interview out on Sunday at 2pm!!

"I had this conversation with him plenty of times. We had an agreement that he would come back every six months. He came back once in 2005," Emmons explained during an interview on the the RTM Podcast Show. The emphasis is put on why couldn’t I send him money or fly out there and visit him. I wasn’t expecting [his mother] to pay."
Emmons says a lot more on the subject, which you can see above.
